DIRECTIONS FOR USE OF NEW SUPPLEMENT
THE LAWS OF KENYA (REVISION) ORDER, 1978
1. This Order may be cited as the Laws of Kenya (Revision) Order, 1978.
2. The Eighth Annual Supplement to the Laws of Kenya prepared under section 11(1) of the Act shall come into force on the 18th September, 1978.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE OF NEW SUPPLEMENT
1. The Eighth Annual Supplement comprises the following new booklets-
(a) |
8 statutes incorporated in the laws for the first time, namely Nos. 9, 38, 253, 394, 411, 468, 493B and 531;
|
(b) |
a revised edition of the Local Government Regulations, 1963, republished as Chapter 265 of the Laws of Kenya under section 11 (1A) of the Act;
|
(c) |
11 revised Chapters, namely Nos. 1, 8, 16, 21, 57, 130, 258, 340, 403, 486 and 525;
|
(d) |
a revised Table of Contents (including a separate table of omitted Acts);
|
(e) |
a revised Index including a complete noter up of the laws as at 1st January, 1978.
|
2. The new booklet and the Table of Contents should be inserted in the volumes. It will in practice no longer be found possible to insert the Chapters exactly into those volumes assigned to them on the printed title cards inserted in the "pocket" on the spine of each volume. Further, additions to the Laws of Kenya made necessary by the replacement of Community statutes with those for Kenya both this year and next year, and the insertion of the Local Government Act, will, it is anticipated, give rise to the need for a thirteenth volume. Orders have been placed by the Government Printer for the necessary extra binders and it is planned for these to be available for next year's revision together with a series of new printed title cards which will rationalize the distribution of Chapters in each volume.
3. The revised Index may be conveniently inserted at the beginning of the first volume, the end of the last volume or kept separately from the volumes.
4. Before, or at the same time as, the new booklets are inserted, the following booklets should be removed and stored for future reference—
(a) |
Chapters 1, 8, 9, 16, 21, 57, 130, 197, 253, 258, 274, 339, 340, 396, 397, 403, 486, 501, 525;
|
(b) |
the old Table of Contents and Index;
|
(c) |
Orders in Council and applied laws which are not referred to in the Table of Contents;
|
the removed Chapters are statutes which have been repealed, are spent or are superceded by new revised editions, and those other laws which have been removed no longer apply to Kenya.
5. The Government Printer will supply the 1978 Supplement complete to persons not entitled to free supplements at a total cost of Sh. 743.
